Embroidered red on blue wool National Fire Service area 27 breast badge. For wear on the heavy duty NFS tunic. Area 27 covered part of Manchester and had it's headquarters in Cheadle. In good condition, retaining much of it's paper backing, with evidence of having been removed from a tunic. read more

Raw edged, 1941 dated MkII helmet by Briggs Motor Bodies with a size 7 MkII, 1940 dated liner for a member of NFS No.37 Fire Force. No.37 Fire Force covered S/E London with it's headquarters in Eltham. Helmet in excellent, clean condition with manufacturer's markings clearly stamped to rim and to liner. Foolscap size, Illustrated ' Special Order of the Day ' for " T " Sector London District Home Guard. Part of the Middlesex Home Guard based at Ealing, this order is in the form of a thank you and good luck message by the CO Col.A.C.R.Waite M.C. on the Stand Down of the Home Guard in December 1944. Good, overall condition, has been folded with some light marking. read more

Home Office ARP Gas Samples.
Official Home Office gas samples for ARP instructional use. These samples of four of the main gases expected to be deployed by the Germans were intended for smell recognition. Whilst originally containing minute samples of the real gas they have now only a vaguely chemically smell. All samples are contained in named tubes in named compartments . Safe and uncommon.
