Auxiliary Driver's Association Cap badge.

A particularly scarce example of the bronze cap badge used by the Auxiliary Driver's Association ( ADA ). This was an offshoot of the MTC, based in Birmingham which worked for the Ministry of Information. The badge represents a vehicle headlight blackout mask. Cardboard target for use on small bore rifle ranges. Overprinted with ' No.82 Coy.21st Mx. Batt H.G. ' and impressed with manufacturer's details ' Banfield Bros '. Uncommon variation of the standard pattern of the Home Guard lapel badge. Brass and enamel badge with half moon fitting to the reverse but with the unusual choice of red enamel. Unknown purpose but possibly using up old stock for use with the second phase of the HG. Good, used condition with enamel flaw at 5 o'clock position.  read more
