Brass and enamel, pinback lapel badge for a Ministry of Food ' Food Leader '. Working as a direct link between the MOF and the housewife, Food Leaders sought to educate on food and the ability to use it to the best advantage by passing on tips, distributing leaflets and manning advice centres. Mostly WVS members there were 15,000 by early 1945.

Housed in a contemporary framed and glazed picture mount this Womens' Land Army service certificate made out to a Miss Eileen Kendall W.L.A. member 122472 who served between May 1943 and July 1948. Good, clean condition. read more

White metal and enamel AFS lapel badge. Official issue ( A.F.S. No.22 ), numbered to the reverse and manufacturer marked 'HWM' (Millers) with corresponding number to lid of box. An above average example of a MkII helmet worn by an ARP Warden. Shell by J.S.S. ( Joseph Sankey & Sons ), dated 1939 with a size 7, 1939 dated Mk I liner by BMB ( Briggs Motor Bodies ). Neatly stencilled ' W ' to front and rear featuring a high gloss black finish.
