Framed and glazed Certificate of Home Guard Proficiency awarded to a private in the 1st Hampshire ( Andover ) Battalion in 1943. Included in the frame is a printed Lewis Gun proficiency badge, a HG proficiency sleeve badge and a printed war service chevron. The frame has a number of signatures to the reverse, presumably as a result of a post War reunion. read more

Used in conjunction with the huge wartime National Savings drives and was more probably designed for mounting on a pole with a reinforced sleeve sewn to one side of the flag.
