C1941, small format, card covered manual by Gale & Polden covering the Canadian Ross Service Rifle. With fold out plans, sketches and photographs this was designed as an aide memoire for one of the many rifles used by the Home Guard. In good, used condition with minor marks to covers and rusting of staples with rust bleed. read more

1945 Mrs Sew-and-Sew leaflet No.4 ' How to Patch Sheets and Blankets. ' Mrs Sew-and-Sew was a character thought up by the Board of Trade and was used as a vehicle to encourage thrift when dealing with wartime clothing shortages.

Home Guard slip on shoulder titles.
A good,original, matched pair of probably unissued, Home Guard slip-on shoulder titles. Embroidered cotton on serge, these titles were unofficial and were based on the design adopted by the Regular Army and were probably sourced locally. Apparently in widespread use by 1941 these examples are in unissued condition but displaying their quick and cheap origins.

23cms x 23cms A.R.P. Wardens' Post enamel sign. Used to indicate premises used for use as a Wardens' post, these could vary from private houses to purpose blast proof shelters. Good, used condition with some chipping and corrosion to the edges with a dusty reverse. Wartime enamel signs have risen rapidly in price and are increasingly difficult to acquire. read more
