Multi-piece construction armband for use by an Air Raid Warden employed by Symingtons. R & W H Symington & Co Ltd were corset manufacturers with their main factory in Market Harborough. A better than average, example of the small child's respirator contained in it's original cardboard case and explanatory leaflet. Produced in a child friendly orange rubber with a blue coloured filter similar to the American produced child's mask that was specifically designed to look like Mickey Mouse and to be less frightening to children. Wartime Cadbury's Plain Chocolate.
A rare survivor ! Complete bar of Cadbury's ' Plain Bournville ' chocolate. In utility, printed greaseproof paper wrapper which were introduced as a wartime economy measure, it bears the slogan ' Cadbury's Plain '. In good condition but cannot vouch for the quality of the chocolate !! - bar is intact with some whitening and has some very minor ' nibbles ' to one edge. read more

Silver and enamel, pinback badge for a member of the Civil Nursing Reserve. The CNR was recruited initially to augment staff at hospitals during war but was later extended to provide staff for FAPs in shelters and rest centres. Maker marked ' W.J.D. B'ham ' and ' Sterling Silver ' with safety chain. Patinated overall. read more
