An example of the myriad of gas mask containers that proliferated during the War. This example often referred to as a Home Guard item by virtue of its khaki colouring is dated 1940 to the base with a specific adhesive material name tag. The interior features a cloth sleeve intended to maintain the mask in its optimum condition with instructions to the lid interior. The small size mask is 1942 dated manufactured by the Leyland and Birmingham Rubber Co and is fitted with a Contex extension. Mask in good, clean condition with container in similar condition with some minor abrasions and marks complete with original string carrying harness.
