Civil Air Guard Field Service Cap.

A scarce original Civil Air Guard field service cap. Dark blue wool serge material featuring a chrome and enamel Civil Air Guard cap badge to one side with CAG pattern buttons fitted to the front. Black, glazed cotton lining, approx. size 7.
The CAG was formed in July 1938 for members of civilian flying clubs to join. Offering a subsidised cost for learning to fly on the understanding that anyone who joined would go into the RAF or Fleet Air Arm on the outbreak of war.
Generally excellent, used condition with some very minor moth grazes. All CAG uniform and insignia are now scarce as the organisation was relatively small and short lived.
