Chrome and enamel, pinback Scottish Women's Auxiliary Police Corps lapel badge. Established in August 1939 the WAPC initially provided back up roles such as clerical, driving etc. Later in the War they acquired full police powers. However, by 1945 their numbers only reached 4000 across the UK and they were subsequently disbanded in 1946. Numbered to the reverse and in excellent, clean condition. Uncommon.
