Police Duty Armband.

Embroidered armband which all uniformed Constables and Sergeants were required to wear on the left forearm sleeve of the tunic, signifying that the officers were on duty, this was also required by the large number of non uniformed Specials who were recruited during the War. Similarly the early members of the Observer Corps, who were initially administered by the police, were required to wear the armlet whilst on duty. This was later modified with the addition of ' Observer Corps ' embroidered to the centre.
