1939 War service badge.
Gilt and enamel button hole lapel badge by Thos. Fattorini, B'ham. Bright, fresh gilding with undamaged enamel, numbered to the reverse. It is believed that this was one of a batch of test types based on earlier WW1 designs that were rejected in favour of more modern designs and put into storage. This example was one of an unissued batch with the lowest number 2 and the highest 76.

Wartime tin of peas.
Full, unopened tin of 'Benedict' processed peas. This example features a half label, a wartime expediency designed to save paper. This tin, although a modest item, is a scarce survivor and is in good condition with some minor bruising and corosion. Label is largely intact with some rips and missing pieces. Heavy item.

Gilt and enamel lapel badge for a Ministry of Food 'Emergency Food Officer'. with the details of H.W.Miller, B'ham to the reverse half-moon lapel fitting. Gilt is fresh whilst the enamel is clean and undamaged, an excellent example.EFOs were largely administrative staff brought in to restore food supplies where disruption had been caused by air raid damage.

ARP Handbook No.13 Fire Protection.
1942 90pg Handbook No.13 'Fire Protection - For the guidance of occupiers of factories and other business premises.' Covering subjects from emergency water supplies, fire watchers and fire pumps this wide ranging manual, illustrated with diagrams and sketches, sets out to defeat the menace of the incendiary bomb. In good used condition with some minor creasing and staining, one of the less common ARP handbooks.

Early Fire Guard armband.
Heavy duty cotton armband with the word 'FIRE' stiched on in individual letters closed with a stainless roller buckle. This armband comes from the period in 1940 when volunteers came forward for fire prevention duties, those not under direct warden or fire brigade control often sourced their own armbands via commercial sources, this is one example. They were rendered obsolete by the provision of the Fire Guard armband.
This example in good used condition with some contemporary staple! repairs.

Another commercial publication in the 'Bernards' series. 48pgs aimed primarily at the Home Guard, this publication describes every major type of grenade in service, No.36,69,73,74,75,76 and 77 as well as German and US types. Diagrams throughout with sketches showing throwing and use of the EY rifle. In good clean condition.

Chrome and enamel, pinback badge for Instructors, Local Air Raid Precautions. This badge was introduced in 1942 in response to requests for a government approved badge for Civil Defence instructors. This particular example is for personnel trained at a local level.
